Yorkshire car styling business targets growth in China
A Bradford-based car-styling company which works with some of the best-known car brands is gearing up to trade in China after celebrating major success in the UK, the US, South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Kahn Design, an innovative group of four companies, now plans to build a network of partners in China after initial success in the country.
The group which includes Project Kahn, Kahn Automotive and The Chelsea Truck Co, manufactures and supplies a selection of styling accessories from carpets, seats and interior design to pedals, wheels and exhausts – plus other adaptations for businesses.
Consumers can bring their car, from a range of vehicles including Audi and Range Rover, and marques such as Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley and Rolls Royce for personalised styling. Alternatively, they can buy a new tailor made vehicle to suit their individual specification.
Overseas partner businesses can purchase the vehicles locally, sourcing upgrade packages through Kahn Design. Alternatively, they can buy the vehicles ready-styled to customer preferences from Kahn Group which exports the vehicles for delivery to the customer.
Kahn Design business development executive, Alexander Feather, commented: “We are expanding through peoples’ desire to express themselves through adding personalised style to their vehicle. This is particularly true in nations with a strong emphasis on a uniform traditional dress as, through us, drivers apply their individuality through their vehicle rather than their clothing.
“Accessing the Chinese market could have a major impact on our global sales during the next five years and this is why we have sought help from specialists at Chamber International.”
Kahn Design, which has a £20m turnover, achieves approximately 60% of sales through exporting.
