BigChange plans overseas expansion as UK sales grow

During 2018, Leeds-based BigChange saw sales grow by almost two thirds and the workforce technology company now has ambitious plans to take its products into Europe and the US.
Last year, turnover at the firm reached £11m, a 65 per cent rise since the previous year, and profit before tax tripled, increasing to £1.4m.

BigChange proved able to attract more than 250 new customers during the year, and signed new business contracts worth £16m.

Martin Port, founder and chief executive of BigChange, said: "2018 was a stellar year for growth at BigChange. We’ve made significant investments in sales, marketing, product development and customer support, and these have been rewarded through substantial increases to both sales and profitability.

"We will be scaling up our activities significantly in 2019, with strategic acquisitions and international expansion planned for France, Germany and the US. We are targeting over £25m in new contract wins and full year sales in excess of £17m in 2019."

BigChange is responsible for 'Jobwatch' technology that helps manage, schedule and track mobile workforces and transport operations. New customers in 2018 included Braemar Shipping Services, BID Group, Arco, Recycling Lives, Jackson Fire & Security, PHMG and Snorkel UK. The growth in demand resulted in the creation of more than 40 new jobs.
