Hosehop Ltd, a specialist online industrial hose supplier in Harrogate, has secured a second order from a customer 4,600 miles away - a diamond mine in North East Angola.
Two years ago, Hoesehop’s owner Mike Shakespeare sent the company’s largest order to Angola’s Somiluana mine, shipping nearly three miles of industrial hose worth £137,000.
As a result of the service it received from the family-run Harrogate firm, the mine operator has placed another order and HoseShop has now sent over half a mile of hose worth £25,900.
Mr Shakespeare said: “They were impressed the first time round by our service and flexibility in accommodating their packing requirements. I am delighted that we continue to be their supplier.”
The hoses will be used to pump water away from the mining area and into natural watercourses. The pipes will also be used when sections of the nearby river are temporarily diverted during the dry season, in order to allow miners to search the riverbed for diamond deposits.
