Optibiotix signs Baltic supply agreement

York-based life sciences firm OptiBiotix Health has entered an Eastern European supply agreement which will see its probiotic product used in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Under the agreement, the company's subsidiary, ProBiotix Health, partnered with Biolat JSC, will handle the supply of its cholesterol and blood pressure reducing LPLDL strain into the Baltic states.
The agreement gives Biolat a non-exclusive license to package and commercialise own label food capsule products containing OptiBiotix's probiotic strain.

Stephen O'Hara, chief executive of OptiBiotix, said: "We are pleased to announce this supply agreement with Biolat, which further reinforces the presence of the LPLDL in a wide range of products in Eastern Europe, where heart disease is a major public health issue.

"We decided to partner up with Biolat for their experience in the field of natural products manufacturing and distribution and their knowledge of this geographic area. They also have an outstanding track record of successful product launches leading to long-term revenue generation and growth."
