Leeds-based language services provider thebigword has boosted its global presence with the opening of a new operations centre in Pune,India .
The new centre will bolster the company's specialised translation and interpretation services.
Building a larger presence in India forms part of thebigword Group's global expansion strategy.
Nihat Arkan, chief executive at thebigword, said: "India is one of the world's most vibrant and diverse regions, and our expansion there is a strategic priority for the growth of thebigword in the APAC region, and is fully in line with our ambitious global strategy."
Mark Daley, chief operating officer at thebigword, added: "We have chosen Pune as our base in India to benefit from the growing pool of academics and highly educated language professionals based in the city. This will inevitably ensure that thebigword provides the best quality service to our growing client base around the globe."
In addition to its new operations centre, thebigword has also partnered with global IT service provider Techwave to establish a Digital Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, India.
