Leeds-based translation company thebigword,is continuing to export its services overseas, this time winning a contract from The United States Navy’s engineering command, which ensures the combat readiness of the world’s largest naval force, to support operations across three of the US Military’s major geographic commands, covering Europe, Africa and the Middle East regions.
The company, which has ambitions to become one of the top five translation and interpreting companies worldwide, will supply its translation and interpreting services to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Europe Africa Southwest Asia (NAVFAC EURAFSWA), headquartered in Naples, Italy.
NAVFAC is responsible for managing facility project planning and design for US commanders globally, and also for providing naval forces with operations, support and onshore training bases.
The $5m contract has been awarded for a year initially and may be renewed for up to four more years.
