Liversedge-based Fusion has doubled the size of its premises and created a further two new jobs as a result of increasing global demand for its unique musical instrument bags.
The company was launched in 2008 by four women in response to the problem of protecting musicians’ instruments while travelling or touring. With a range of over 100 products, it exports worldwide and its key markets include the USA, Australia, Canada, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Hong Kong, Singapore and Argentina.
The half-million-pound turnover business has seen online sales jump by around 25% this year with overseas trade now accounting for 80% of Fusion’s sales.
To enable it to cope with increased demand, Fusion has expanded its warehouse in Liversedge to 3,409sq ft by taking on an adjacent unit.
Nicole Szekeres, co-founder and director, comments: “As we approach our tenth anniversary, we are thrilled to take on additional staff and to open our expanded new premises. Our larger site means we now have all of our business functions under one roof and more room for stock to meet demand from all over the world.”
Among Fusion’s top selling products internationally are Bagpipe bags, with the company’s guitar, trombone, ukulele and trumpet bags also in its list of top ten products.
“The world is going crazy for bagpipes right now,” said Nicole. “We’ve experienced a 25% growth in online retail sales this year and we’re even selling bags to Hawaii and Japan.”
