Yorkshire business consultancy opens New York office

Wetherby-based consultancy, Smarter Business Processes has opened its first overseas branch in New York. With an office in the One World Trade Center, the new premises marks significant international progression for the Yorkshire firm.

Due to increased demand for the firm’s services, the company headcount has doubled from seven employees to 14 over the past year. Five team members are based in the US, home to 60% of its current client base.

Smarter Business Processes was established by husband and wife duo Richard and Gwen Rymill in March 2013, operating as a consultant, trainer and reseller for Smartsheet and AppSheet apps. The globally recognised company provides Smartsheet optimisation, training and support for its clients around the world, helping over 800 companies to streamline their workflow in the last two years.

The co-founder and communications director of Smarter Business Processes, Gwen Rymill, said: “We are delighted to have opened our second office, right in the heart of Manhattan. Given our ever-increasing US client-base, the New York bureau has been a natural growth progression and will allow us to better serve our American customers. We would like to say a big thank you to the Department for Trade (DIT) for their invaluable guidance support in speeding us through our export journey.”

Richard Rymill, the company’s co-founder and its lead consultant, said: “Clients are demanding greater process automation that saves time, reduces risk and implements efficiency. With ever-present mobile use in all organisations, we are seeing a huge demand for intuitive, user-friendly workflows and solutions that offer interoperability between Apps.

“This is a time of great change in the world and workplace, therefore it is important for organisations to embrace change in order to gain competitive advantage, and to generate a culture of continuous innovation within their own workforce
